AYSO uses an age matrix with an August 1 cutoff to determine player divisions, aligning with U.S. Soccer and other major youth soccer organizations.
Under this model, a player’s division is based on their age during the timeframe of August 1 through July 31.
For Example: A player who is 5 years old on August 1 will play in the 6U division for that Fall season.
To help determine the appropriate division for your child, please refer to the age chart below, which follows U.S. Soccer guidelines.
During the registration, you will see only the division based on the participant’s date of birth. For more information, please see the Age Determination Guide at ayso.org.
